Ordering and Interpreting Investigations Request laboratory tests, X-rays, CT scans, ultrasounds, and interpret results. Treating Injuries and Trauma Manage wounds, fractures, burns, and other physical injuries requiring surgery. Collaborating with Other Specialists Work with anesthetists, nurses, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals during patient care. Educating Patients Explain surgical procedures, risks, benefits, and recovery plans to patients and their families. Preventing and Managing Complications Detect and treat infections, bleeding, or other complications after surgery. Performing Minor Surgical Procedures Conduct procedures such as abscess drainage, wound suturing, and biopsy collection. Maintaining Medical Records Keep detailed records of surgeries, treatments, and patient progress. Promoting Patient Recovery Advise patients on rehabilitation, wound care, nutrition, and follow-up treatment after surgery.
