Primary care physician who serves as the first point of contact for patients, working in clinics, private practices, or hospitals, often as part of a multidisciplinary team. Diagnosing and treating a wide range of acute and chronic illnesses, conducting physical exams, ordering/interpreting diagnostic tests (e.g., blood tests, X-rays), prescribing medication, providing preventive care and health education, and referring patients to specialists when necessary.
