*I graduated with a BDS from Sri Ramachandra Medical College in October 2025.* As a BDS doctor, my core responsibilities center on comprehensive oral healthcare and patient well-being. My clinical duties include diagnosing and treating dental conditions such as cavities, gum disease, malocclusion, and oral infections through procedures like restorations, root canal treatments, extractions, and scaling. I perform preventive care by conducting routine check-ups, oral cancer screenings, and educating patients on proper brushing, flossing, and dietary habits to maintain long-term oral hygiene. A key part of my role involves creating individualized treatment plans after thorough clinical and radiographic examinations. I handle emergency dental cases like trauma, severe toothaches, and abscesses, providing immediate pain relief and stabilization. Prosthodontic work such as fabricating crowns, bridges, and dentures to restore function and aesthetics also falls under my scope, along with minor oral surgical procedures. Beyond clinical work, patient counseling is vital. I explain treatment options, risks, and post-operative care in simple terms to ensure informed consent and compliance. Maintaining accurate patient records, sterilization protocols, and infection control standards is non-negotiable for safety and medico-legal reasons. I also collaborate with specialists like orthodontists, oral surgeons, and periodontists for multidisciplinary cases requiring referrals. Staying updated with advancements in dental materials, techniques, and digital dentistry through CPD is essential to deliver evidence-based care. Ultimately, my goal is to improve patients’ oral health, restore confident smiles, and promote overall wellness through preventive and therapeutic dentistry.
